Holiday Greetings

This is a bit late, but we here at SnugglePugs wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!  I've been quite remiss in sending any info out this year, so I will try to catch you up on our events.  Daughter Brenda had some reconstructive surgery in Feb. and had complications so was in and out of the hospital several times.  She does all our showing, so it was rough going for her those first months.   But she did finish our pretty girl, Faith, and also finished Woody's Grand Championship.  Points towards championships were earned on others for us and also for some of our friends' dogs that Brenda showed.

In February, we got a new male puppy, Leo, who is a son of Rufus, one of the top-winning Pugs in the U.S.  You may have seen him on TV on Thanksgiving in the National Dog Show winning a Group Three (third place of all the Toy Group Best of Breed winners).  Rufus has won several Best in Shows.  We hope Leo will follow in his daddy's footsteps.  We have shown him a few times this fall, and he has nine points towards his championship.   One weekend he was Puppy Toy Group One, that was exciting.  You can see pictures of Leo on our website on the "Photos" page.

The Pug Nationals were held in Chattnooga, TN, this year, and we caravanned there with our friends Jackie and Harold Lowrie in our respective motorhomes.  We didn't have any big wins like we did last year, but we did okay and had a great week.  So much fun seeing our friends from all over the country.   A Pug we bred and sold to Katy Mallory in West Virginia did fantastic in the agility competition, winning a pile of ribbons including three huge blue ones.  We are so proud of her and Katy!    We are looking forward to going again this year, they are being held in PA.

We had three litters of pups this year, one we enjoyed sharing Christmas with - they are just four weeks old.  Hope your Christmas was nice, too.

Our future plans?  We are just looking forward to another successful year at the shows, and maybe a couple of litters of cute Pug babies.

Joan, Gary, Brenda, and all the SnugglePugs
